Ottawa – Eastbound Wellington Street from Booth Street to the Portage Bridge intersection, and the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway between Preston and Booth streets, as well as northbound Preston Street between the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway and Albert Street will be closed for the next three weekends, from 7 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday each weekend. Westbound Wellington Street and the westbound Parkway will remain open.

This work involves upgrading a storm sewer in the intersection of Booth Street and the Parkway as part of the O-Train Confederation Line project. A large pit will be excavated in the intersection of Booth Street and the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway and backfilled at the end of the first two weekends. On the third weekend, work will conclude with the final paving.

A signed detour will be in place. Portable Variable Messaging signs have already been installed to give the travelling public advance notice of the road closures. The affected roads will be closed to all traffic including cyclists.

OC Transpo Route 8, to Gatineau, will be detoured. Service from Gatineau will not be affected. Please check octranspo.com for details.
