The 13th edition of Westfest opened the national capital music festival season on Friday.
The new location at Laroche Park in Mechanicsville gives families attending the added bonus of having a mini water park and a playground to entertain the kids.
The music will continue through Sunday, with more than 150 Ottawa artists taking the Westfest main stage.
Beyond the music, there’s the kids zone, the Aboriginal Pavilion, food trucks, Artisan Park and live mural painting.
