Beau’s, the beer brewed in Vankleek Hill, has been named the official brew of Ottawa 2017.
Brewery co-founder Steve Beauchesne told a crowd at Datsun restaurant on Thursday that, specifically, Lug Tread will be beer of Canada’s 150th birthday in the capital.

Beau’s doesn’t want to shut out other Ottawa brewers. Beauchesne said the company will invite at least one other local brewery to pour during events in Ottawa.
“We wanted to share this sponsorship with lots of people,” Beauchesne said.
The brewery also wants to collaborate on special beers with other brewers across Canada each month of 2017. Ottawa brewers Kichesippi and Big Rig have already been lined up.
Beau’s is celebrating its 10th anniversary this coming Canada Day.
