Ottawa – Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has lifted the Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for the Rideau Centre Food Court. The precautionary boil water advisory is still in effect for these addresses until further notice.

  • 41 Rideau Street (CIBC building)
  • 45 Rideau Street (Holtz Spa)
  • 80 Rideau Street (Tim Horton’s)

Restaurants within the Rideau Centre Food Court are advised to run the cold water tap for 5 minutes upon first use to clear the pipes and there is no need to get their water tested.

It is important to note that flushing activities done by City crews during repairs to the watermain can disturb iron sediments that are often present in watermain pipes.

The presence of iron particles may cause a slight reddish brown or yellow colour in tap water, but is not harmful to health.

Additional information is available at ottawa.ca, by calling 3-1-1 or Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744. You can also connect with Ottawa Public Health on Facebook and Twitter (@ottawahealth).
