Water was spraying everywhere on Saturday as paddlers leaned into it at the 2016 Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival at Mooney’s Bay Park.

The festival, which had 25 teams at its inaugural event in 1994, now attracts more than 200 teams in competitive, corporate and community divisions, and is recognized as North America’s largest dragon boat event.

Beyond the fun on the water, the four-day festival also boasts concerts, artisans, exhibitors, culinary treats, a beach-side bar, children’s areas and amusement attractions.

The racing continues on Sunday, kicking off at 7:30 a.m.
