A 42-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting Sunday night in Barrhaven.
Police were called to an area in the 3100 block of Woodroffe Avenue around 10 p.m. for the shooting. No was injured, police said.
The person who called 911 placed him under arrest before police arrived and took him into custody.
Ian Bursey was charged with attempted murder and various gun offences, including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace and discharging a firearm. He was also charged with loitering or prowling at night on another person’s property and assault.
Bursey was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
