The National Capital Region’s jobless rate was 6.9 per cent in June, unchanged from May and bang on average for last four months.
Ottawa-Gatineau added 2,200 jobs in June, for a new record employment of 718,700 jobs.
Breaking down the capital region stats, the jobless rate in the city of Ottawa in June slipped to 6.7 per cent from 6.8 per cent in May, while in Gatineau, the rate was up slightly to 7.3 per cent from 7.1 per cent the previous month.
Nationally, the unemployment rate fell to 6.8 per cent in June from 6.9 per cent the previous month, according to Statistics Canada.
