A motorcyclist was in critical condition in hospital after striking a guard rail on Highway 417 late Monday afternoon.
Paramedics, firefighters and the OPP responded to the eastbound lanes just before Parkdale Avenue at 5:13 p.m.
An off-duty paramedic had been first on the scene and started treatment on a man in his 40s, who was unresponsive and had suffered head and shoulder injuries. He was stabilized on his way to the trauma centre.
