A Quebec man faces a $100 fine and three demerit points, in addition to minor injuries he suffered Friday afternoon when the vehicle he was driving collided with a Société de transport de l’Outaouais bus in the city’s Rapibus corridor Friday afternoon.
First responders were called to the intersection of Maloney Boulevard West and Montée Paiement at 1:30 p.m. after a car ran a red light while turning right onto Montée Paiement, striking the bus broadside.
While the private vehicle was seriously damaged, the driver, in his 50s, received only minor injuries and was taken to Hull Hospital. The bus driver was taken to the Centre hospitalier de Gatineau as a preventive measure, but none of the approximately 10 passengers were injured.
