A man in his twenties is believed to have drowned after jumping into Lac St. Pierre in Val-des-Monts on Saturday.
Emergency services responded just after midnight to reports a man had leapt into the lake and was unable to swim back to shore. Efforts by the man’s friends to save him were unsuccessful, said MRC des Collines police.
A team of divers from the Sûreté du Québec is currently working to recover the man’s body and an investigation of the incident is underway.
