Recently in this forum, someone is trying to insult people from Shanghai. Frankly speaking, the phenomenons they listed also apply to other cities in China, especially big cities. Even our great capital, Beijing has the same issue and is being complained often by others. Honestly, they are all the darkness for China and the young generation.
Nevertheles, anyone has been studying, working and visiting Shanghai for the recent 20 years can be easily aware of the fact that people in Shanghai have made great progress to adopt people from somewhere else. Actually, Shanghai is an immigrant city. I have roots both from North and South. Nowadays, almost in all the public places, Shanghai people speak mandarin to respect others. Personally, we make lots of friends with our co-workers not originated from Shanghai in companies and even establish families.
However, why do someone refuse to see these progress and continue to insult us personally. The only reason is that Shanghai people are too gentlemen. This the same case why the main stream of this soceity does not dare to take advantage of black people but Chinese. So if you are the one from Shanghai, you should stand up to slash back those evil attacks. Intellectically, we are highly educated. Physically, we have the figures to build top teams among leagues. There is no reason for us to tolerate such insulation forever. Enough is enough!
We do want to establis and value a United Chinese community abroad. However, for anyone who intentionaly damage it, we should stand firmly to get thing right!!!
