The Ottawa police office on Queensview Drive was closed Tuesday morning after a suspicious package was discovered in its mailroom.
Const. Marc Soucy said the incident began shortly before 11 a.m., when some employees were affected by the contents of the package.
The office provides record checks, finger printing service, police reports and background checks for adoptions.
The building was not evacuated, but it was closed to the public while the investigation was underway, Soucy said.
