Fiery multi-vehicle crash closes Highway 401 near Gananoque

Highway 401 is expected to remain closed in both directions for most of the morning Wednesday following a fiery multi-vehicle crash near Gananoque, about 170 kilometres south of Ottawa.

Ontario Provincial Police advised the eastbound lanes are closed at Thousand Island Parkway, westbound lanes are shut at Reynolds Road.

There was no immediate word on how many vehicles were involved or whether there were injuries.
