Hydro Ottawa crews are responding to a large power outage near the intersection of Baseline Road and Merivale Road.
According to Hydro Ottawa, it is estimated that around 7,800 customers are affected by the outage.
Reports on social media are that traffic lights have gone out at several intersections along both Meadowlands and Merivale.
In addition, power is reportedly out at Algonquin College and the Nepean Sportsplex.
At about 1:30 p.m., Hydro Ottawa estimated power would be returned at about 5 p.m.
A pole fire is suspected as the cause.
