A Gatineau driver was pulled over by police at 4 p.m. and tests showed he had about four times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
The 51-year-old man was stopped near the intersection of Cité-des-Jeunes Boulevard and St-Raymond Boulevard.
He did a breath test at the police station, though police won’t say what the exact result was.
He was charged with impaired driving and held at the station for a while because police didn’t feel it was safe to let him go in that condition.
The driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and his car is impounded for a month.
It’s the second case in two days where a Gatineau driver has been stopped for an unusually serious traffic offence. A 27-year-old man got a $1,294 ticket and lost his car for a week after driving 119 km/h in a 50 km/h zone Tuesday night.
