Sometimes there’s a very fine line between disaster and just another bad day on the road.

Emergency responders in Ottawa rushed to what sounded like a potentially dangerous call Tuesday morning, after it was reported at least two cars were involved in a serious collision at St. Laurent Boulevard and Belfast Road in the east end.

Witnesses reported that one of the cars landed on top of the second.

Ottawa fire service was alerted for possible extrication duties and paramedics were en route to the scene.

But the traffic gods seemed to be watching out for the travellers. No one was injured in the dramatic crash, although one couple was pretty shaken up, as these photos from Dr. Nizar Sultan show.

The investigation continues into the cause of the crash.
