An Ottawa man is facing criminal charges after police say a man broke into a building in the city’s south end and sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl.
Police opened an investigation after receiving a complaint on Sept. 28. The incident happened in a building in a rural area off of Bank Street, south of Leitrim Road, police say.
Chris Rose, 45, has been charged with sexual assault and break and enter. Police say he appeared in court Wednesday and was released from custody. Rose is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Investigators with the Ottawa police’s sexual assault and child abuse unit are concerned there could be other victims.
