An elderly man was in critical condition after suffering life-threatening injuries following an accident Monday involving a pickup truck, Gatineau police say.
Four other people have also been transported to hospital after suffering multiple, but non-life threatening, injuries.
A truck driving along Gréber Blvd. crashed into a car at the corner of Saint-Louis in Gatineau at 4:10 p.m., injuring two passengers, said Gatineau police Lt. Yves Comtois.
The truck then went on to hit a bus shelter injuring a woman and her child, along with the elderly man.
Two-way lane traffic remains closed on Gréber Blvd., between between Saint-Louis and Lafortune streets.
Ottawa police are interviewing the driver of the pick-up truck.
The police have not disclosed the identity of the male driver or the accident’s victims.
No charges have been laid as police continue to investigate.
