A toddler was rushed to CHEO in critical condition after he was struck by a car in a residential parking lot in Gatineau around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said the two-year-old boy may have been playing near the parking lot on 50 Lorrain Blvd. at the Lorrain Habitations apartment complex near Maloney Boulevard. Investigators believe the child was hit by a reversing car as he went to chase a ball.
Sgt. Sebastien Pepin said the latest indication from hospital is that the child’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Two investigators have been assigned to the case. Police said they would provide an update when available.
