A loss of electricity from the provincial grid system has created an outage in a large section of the western suburbs.
While the situation is in flux, Hydro Ottawa says as many as 10,100 customers are unlikely to have any service until about 2 p.m.
Ottawa’s traffic department said at first that traffic lights were out, but added minutes later that the situation was “cleared.”
The neighbourhoods affected are around Woodroffe Avenue, Merivale Road, Baseline Road, Hunt Club Road and Meadowlands Road.
