A 24-year-old Gatineau woman was to appear in court after she was arrested and charged with drunk driving when she arrived to pick up her 16-month-old daughter from a Gatineau daycare Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the woman registered three times the legal blood-alcohol limit.
Police say daycare employees alerted authorities of the woman’s condition and she was intercepted as she was driving away from the CPE Bébéjou on De la Savane Boulevard.
Police say the woman resisted arrest and threatened officers before she was taken into custody.
She was charged with drunk driving and breach of bail conditions (including a ban on drinking).
Quebec’s child protection services have taken custody of the infant.
