A 31-year-old Nepean man is to appear in Gatineau court Jan. 18 after he was arrested on Highway 5 early Monday and found to be allegedly in possession of a quantity of illegal drugs.
The Sûreté du Québec says the man was arrested at about 2 a.m. for driving in an erratic manner on the northbound Highway 5 near the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge exit.
A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up more than 20 grams of cocaine, about 55 pills of what appeared to be methamphetamine and 20 grams of marijuana. Police also seized cellphones and a quantity of cash.
The man’s name will not be released until he appears in court.
