One person was severely injured in a second-floor fire in Vanier on Halloween.
Fire fighters received a 9-1-1 call reporting visible flames from a second-floor unit at a low-rise apartment building at 388 Blake Blvd around 5:46 p.m.. The caller told fire services that someone might still be inside the apartment.
Firefighters found one person inside with what they described as “severe injuries.” The person was taken to hospital by paramedics. Paramedics said they had transported two people to hospital from the fire.
Their conditions are unknown but victim services were called to the scene.
Officials have not yet determined a cause, but estimated damages at approximately $50,000.
Police said Blake Boulevard was closed from LaFontaine Avenue to de Leglise Street, while the investigation continues.
