Ottawa police continue to investigate a series of attacks in the ByWard Market early Thursday after one man was grazed by a shot fired, another was beaten and a third stabbed.

The events began shortly before 1:30 when police were called to a nightclub on the 100 block of George Street near Dalhousie Street.

Paramedics reported treating a 39-year-old man, whose ankle was “grazed” by a bullet and a man in his 20s, suffering injuries “consistent with an assault,” including wounds on his head and hands.

Both injuries were regarded as minor, but both men were taken to hospital.

Paramedics prep a stabbing victim for transport to the trauma centre.

A few minutes later, first responders were called to Laurier Avenue and Nicholas Street for a report of a 26-year-old man who had been stabbed.

The victim was conscious and taken to Ottawa Trauma Center in serious but stable condition.

It was the 61st incident in which shots were reported fired in 2016.

Police said there had been no arrests and asked that anyone with information call the Ottawa police guns and gangs unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5050.
