Ottawa paramedics say fog was at least partly to blame for an early morning crash in the Manotick area Friday that left a 39-year-old seriously injured.
Responders were called to the crash on Manotick Station Road near Gough Road shortly after 5:30 a.m. after a pickup truck smashed into a tree.
Visibility was reported to be near zero at the scene at the time of the crash.
The driver of the car was trapped for more than 20 minutes before being extricated. He suffered serious injuries to his legs, pelvis and arm.
He was in serious but stable condition upon arrival at the Ottawa Trauma Centre.
