A fire investigator has been called in to find out what caused a fire that destroyed an abandoned farm house on Nicolls Island Road near River Road Sunday evening.
Fire crews got multiple 911 calls reporting heavy black smoke and flames and found the home fully engulfed.
They established a “collapse zone” around the house because the integrity of the structure was weakened by the fire and went into defence mode to stop the flames from spreading.
The smoke was billowing out and up. Easily seen from homes in Manotick on River Road. Saw at least 7 fire trucks race down River Rd.
