Ottawa police have closed down a square block of Vanier Tuesday morning as they investigate reports of an assault.
Police would not release details regarding the incident, however sources suggest that the investigation is related to an assault in a home on the 200 block of Desrosiers Street where at least one person was stabbed.
Reports from the scene say a person has barricaded themselves into a home in the area and that police tactical units are on the scene.
Police have closed Desrosiers Street at Deschamps Avenue. Deschamps Avenue to Durocher Street is also closed as is Durocher Street to St. Paul Street. to complete the perimeter, St. Paul Street to Desrosiers Street has been closed.
