Ottawa police charge man, 29, in Albert Street stabbing

A 29-year-old Ottawa has been charged with attempted murder and a number of other offences in connection with a stabbing in an Albert Street building early Tuesday morning.

The victim, a man in his 20s, managed to flee to an OC Transpo bus near the intersection of Albert and Booth streets with a severe stab wound to his shoulder.

Police said the man was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

An investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Campbell, 29, of Ottawa.

He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, unlawfully being in a home, forcible confinement, committing an indecent act with intent to insult or offend another and theft under $5,000.

Campbell was expected to appear in an Ottawa court Wednesday.
