If you’re of a certain generation that grew up in Ottawa, you remember this day: Aug. 10, 1966, when a huge bridge spanning the canal and the river collapsed. Nine men died.
On the 50th anniversary, Bruce Deachman dug deep into the history of the Heron Road Bridge collapse, interviewing the workers who were on the structure that day.
