A section of Aylmer Road was closed Tuesday afternoon as Gatineau police investigated an abandoned package that could contain explosives.
Two commercial buildings at 358 and 362 Aylmer Rd. were evacuated as a precaution, and the road was closed for a single block between Fraser and Cochrane roads.
Gatineau officers say they may have to call in bomb experts from the Sûreté du Québec.
The Paul Pelletier swimming pool building directly across the street from the evacuated buildings has remained open.
