Ottawa police are investigating reports of vandalism at St. Patrick’s Basilica on Kent Street near Nepean Street downtown.
Police wouldn’t elaborate on the nature of the vandalism, but they confirmed that they were called to the church on Sunday night and are now seeking information about the incident.
Published reports suggest that the arm of a statue of Jesus, which stands in front of the worship area of the church, was broken by vandals.
Members of the church at St. Patrick’s Basilica refused to comment on the incident or the damage when contacted Tuesday.
