This is a real “good news, bad news” weather forecast.
For those fighting the rising flood waters (including the Canadian troops who are now in Gatineau), the good news is the rain is expected to stop sometime this afternoon.
The rainfall warning in effect since Thursday was ended by Environment Canada just before midnight on Saturday. Ottawa has had more than 100 mm of rain in May so far.
#Ottawa rain so far this May (as of 2pm): 103.6?; Average for whole month: 71.2?; Record: 175.0? (1916). #OttWx pic.twitter.com/1eHCZOL0If

A 40 per cent chance of rain will remain for Sunday afternoon and evening. But the temperatures will remain chilly; the high is only 5 C during the day, and will drop to -1 C tonight.
And there’s a good chance we’ll see snow by tomorrow, with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. That will change to a 40 per cent chance of rain later in the day on Monday, which has an expected high of just 3 C.
The forecast continues to predict snow on Monday. Most likely between 10AM and 2PM. The last time we had snow during May was 1996. #OttWx

Monday night the temperature may drop to -3 C, and then Tuesday has a 30 per cent chance of flurries or rain. The high on Tuesday is forecast as 6 C.
Wednesday, finally, will be mostly sunny with a high of 6 C. But there is a chance of rain that evening, and then a 40 per cent chance of rain on Thursday.+
