The weather may not feel much like May but at least the Tuesday morning commute is getting back to near-normal after a flurry of flooding-related road closures.
Highway 174, closed because of soil erosion, reopened Tuesday morning between Trim Road in Orléans and Cameron Street in Cumberland.
Highway 50 has also reopened – albeit only heading towards Hull and with a top speed of 50 km/h. STO buses continue to be free rides while federal government employees who work in Gatineau have again been asked to stay home in another bid to clear roads.
E/B lane is now open as well. HWY 174 is now OPEN in both directions from Trim to Cameron. #OttTraffic

The skies should soon be clearing, too.
Tuesday’s forecast is for a 30-per-cent chance of afternoon or early-evening showers, high of 7 C and low of zero with patchy frost.
But Wednesday is forecast to be a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 14 C.
Then Environment Canada predicts mild and more May-like temperatures and the risk of showers every day through Monday.
