Police are hunting for a man who offered cash to a 10-year-old girl in a Metcalfe park last week.
They’re hailing the “brave little girl” for refusing and running home when the man asked if she wanted to do something with him.
She was unhurt.
The incident occurred at about 5:40 p.m. on May 4 in McKendry Park on Dow Street.
Police say a white man, 35 to 40 years old and carrying a binder, approached the girl as she played. The man appears to have been driving a dark-coloured, four-door sedan with a dent in the driver’s door
Anyone with information is asked to call Ottawa police’s east criminal investigation unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 3566. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or by downloading the Ottawa police app.
