An 18-year-old Gatineau man was fined $1,521 and lost 14 demerit points after he was caught speeding in a school zone on Wednesday.
Gatineau police officers caught the man driving 110 kilometres an hour in a 30-kilometre zone on Wilfrid-Lavigne Boulevard in Aylmer around 12:20. Police say that the man was driving with a learners’ permit.
His license has been suspended for seven days and his car has been impounded for 30 days.
