A fire investigator is on the scene after a raging fire broke out overnight at a pair of townhouse blocks that are still under construction.
Residents who’d already moved in called 911 reporting visible smoke inside just before 3 a.m. on Mancini Way at Garrity Crescent.
The blaze went to a second alarm then a third within minutes. By 4:25 a.m., it was under control.
The occupied homes were evacuated. No one was hurt.
Scott Stilborn?’s photo of the fire on Chapman Mills Dr. that involved 2 four storey buildings under construction. Due to safety concerns this is a defensive operation.
The fire department reported that the flames were so intense that the operation became a “defensive attack” at the two blocks of new townhouses with eight units in each block. Siding on nearby buildings was damaged by the heat of the fire.
Heavy equipment being brought in Monday morning so any structures in danger of collapse could be demolished.
Traffic Alert | Chapman Mills Dr. is closed between Leamington Way and Longfields Dr. Expect delays in the area. #otttraffic https://t.co/ZR2dK9fnWr
