A Canada-wide search for a 28-year-old Ottawa-area man in connection with a homicide came to an end on Friday when Brian Quesnel was arrested in Sainte-Barbe, Que., about 80 kilometres east of Cornwall.
Joseph Simonds, 34, was shot on June 4 at a residence in Orillia, Ont. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
Police arrested two other men on June 8 in connection with the Simonds homicide. Sonny Brokenshire, 20, of Orillia, and Martin Forget, 41, of Sainte-Barbe, were charged with first degree murder. They appeared in court in Barrie and were held in custody.
Police were still searching for Quesnel and issued a Canada-wide search warrant.
Quesnel, who is from The Nation, Ont., about 72 kilometres east of Ottawa, was located by the OPP, Quebec provincial police and a tactical and K9 unit.
He will appear in court in Barrie. The investigation continues.
