Beau Breakey, 49, of Ottawa was charged Thursday with offences related to child pornography.
In May, the child sexual exploitation unit of the OPP had started an investigation on “Chatstep,” a disposable web-based chatroom. Officers traced the IP address that was linked to images of prepubescent child pornography to a residence in Ottawa. On Thursday, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the west end.
Breakey has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and four counts of making child pornography available.
Digital devices were seized and additional charges are expected to be laid after a full examination.
Breakey will appear in court on Friday.
