A 69-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with was charged with child pornography-related offences.
Ottawa police said Wednesday that beginning in May 2016, they had received several reports from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre that pornographic images involving prepubescent children had been uploaded on messenger applications Skype and Chatstep.
Police were able to identify the IP address, link it to an address in Ottawa’s west end, and obtain and execute a search warrant.
Leo Houle is charged with possession of child pornography and making child pornography available. Police said they expected to lay more charges after the digital devices that were seized are examined.
Houle is to appear in court on Aug. 27.
