Gatineau police are seeking public assistance in tracking vandals who desecrated headstones and property in two attacks at St-Grégoire-de-Nazianze cemetery in the Buckingham district.
Police said that on Aug. 5 and Aug. 18, cemetery officials spotted damages on a number of monuments and structures.
Several had been tipped over and damages were estimated to be in the thousands of dollars.
Police are to set up a command post at the cemetery’s main entrance Thursday between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to talk to possible witnesses.
Anyone with information on the vandalism is asked to contact Gatineau police at 819-243-INFO (4636), option 5.
