Happy Friday on the day when we may lose dubious bragging rights, but gain a gorgeous summer weekend.

Ottawa’s forecast is finally delivering a sunny, dry weekend even as we’re a few showers away from setting a rain record for the month of July.

The Glebe BIA summed it up in a tweet.

“This weekend is forecasted to be the first without rain since March! How do you plan on spending it?”

Environment Canada’s forecast for Friday is mainly sunny with a high of 24 C and low of 12 C.

Saturday is sunny and 24 C.

There’s a bit of cloud mixed with the sun for Sunday but it will be 28 C with a low of 16 C.

Monday is even warmer with a high of 31 C under a mix of sun and cloud.

Between 2am?8am, #Ottawa received 1.8? of rain, which puts us 0.4? behind 1st place for wettest July in over 140 years of records. #OttWx pic.twitter.com/9DmfJz98Ow

As of Friday morning’s forecast, the chance of showers doesn’t return until it’d be too late to set a July record.

Tuesday, Aug. 1, is forecast to feature sun and cloud with a 30-per-cent chance of showers, a high of 30 C and low of 17 C.

There’s a 40-per-cent chance of showers, high of 27 C and low of 18 C Wednesday.

Thursday again mixes sun and cloud with a 30-per-cent chance of showers and high of 15 C.
