Traffic: Expect delays after multi-car crash on eastbound 417

A multi-car crash on Highway 417 eastbound at Bronson Avenue was mopped up just before 7 a.m. Wednesday but expect delays during the Wednesday morning commute.

The OPP warned that vehicles – four were reportedly involved – were blocking the left lane and motorists reported lingering traffic snarls.

Tuesday evening’s commute included a single-vehicle crash on Mitch Owens Road that paramedics described as “SUV vs telephone pole.” There was no clear winner with the vehicle crumpled and pole listing, although the 19-year-old man driving escaped serious injury. He was treated by paramedics and released from their care at the scene.

Meanwhile Wednesday, motorists will have to contend with period road closures for construction until 7 p.m. Wednesday, including the ramp from westbound March Road to Hwy. 417 westbound and at Hazeldean Road and Hwy. 7.
