Three men have been arrested, and a sawed-off shotgun, a Taser-type weapon and small quantity of illegal drugs seized in a pair of raids in Gatineau Thursday.
The first raid was at about 5:20 a.m., when police searched an apartment in a building on Notre-Dame Street and arrested a 44-year-old man.
Minutes later, they raided a second apartment just around the corner on Chemin du Lac near Monseigneur-Lemieux Street and arrested a 53-year-old man.
A 20-year-old man fled on foot but was collared nearby.
Along with the shotgun and conducted energy weapon, police seized ammunition, 1.1 grams of cocaine, 36.5 grams of marijuana, 166 methamphetamine tablets and some prescription drugs.
Charges laid include possession of prohibited weapons, negligent storage of firearms, possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Police said the two-week investigation began with a tip from the public.
Daniel Latreille, 44, appeared in court Thursday. The other men weren’t named because they have yet to make a first appearance in court.
