If she lost her job after recorded 600+ working hrs, she is eligible to have EI. Parental leave is one of the reasons people could apply for EI benifit.

But if she doesn't lose her job, I mean she "leaves" the job due to she is having babies, won't she apply for "parental leave benefit" from Gov? :confused:

If she leaves the job due to pragnency and giving birth to her baby, she still apply for EI because of parental leave. Her employer may provide their own benifit like holidayitallway mentioned the NRC's extra parental leave coverage during their employees' parental leave.

Since she is just a "temp" employee, she doesn't except to get any benefit from her "employer"...
So now what she cares is whether she can get any benefit from Gov. if she starts to pay for her "EI". And the answer is "Yes" or "No"?! Thanks...

不要搞的那么复杂,如果她在工作的时候(满600小时52周内),有买EI,申请时可以提交ROE的表,和最后的工资证明,就可以申请。如果在还没申请EI就离职(包括资自愿离职,lay off和炒鱿鱼都一样),不管什么原因,都不太可能申请得到,除非医生给你开证明,证明你当时离职是因为Sickness而无法继续工作。
其他情况就看EI那里的人给不给了,你在这里问,谁都说不准,我们说给,他们不给,还是白问,去HRDC问问就知道了。

估算是2000*55%=1100 per month.
但是具体的计算是根据最近26周的pay平均出来的55%,如果你的朋友每周的薪水固定,那么就是周薪的55%为以后每周的EI。

如果是自己离职是需要医生证明你无法胜任这份工作吧,我有个朋友在餐馆打工,她就很轻易拿到医生证明,我老婆就没办法,因为说她工作轻松,时间不算长,医生不给开证明。所以就要等到due前的2个月才能去申请。
lay off申请的就不是怀孕的EI了,是Regular的EI,对吧?
 
再问Jane,我知道申请了Maternity and parental benefits是可以出境的。
但不知道有没有需要什么理由才行,还是不需要理由就可以出境?

申请Maternity and Parental leave的时候会填一份免于报告状态的表格,这样在拿保险休假期间就不用向HR定期报告自己的行踪---找工作的状况才能定期拿到EI补贴,也免除了离境限制。

所以打算离境或者离境前都不需要再向政府申报罗?
