Police say they’re looking for a man who approached a woman in her apartment building and sexually assaulted her early Saturday morning.
It happened on Riverside Drive near Smyth Road at about 3:45 a.m.
Investigators with the sexual assault and child abuse section were able to track down surveillance video of the suspect inside the building and in the back seat of a vehicle.
He is described as black, between 20 and 30 years old and 5-10 to 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, cream-coloured sweater with a stand-up zipped collar, rolled up and ripped blue jeans and black shoes.
Witnesses or anyone who can identify the suspect are asked to call investigators at 613-236-1222 ext. 5944. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
