Police have issued a surveillance image and description of a suspect in hopes the public will help them track down a man who fired multiple shots inside a south-end pizza parlour Saturday evening.
It happened at about 8:20 p.m. at the Milano’s location at Bank Street and Hunt Club Road.
Police said the man walked into the business and fired “several” shots.
No one was hurt, but the proprietors of a nearby sushi bar said a stray bullet penetrated a wall of their establishment.
Staff at nearby restaurants said there was a heavy police presence Saturday evening but no one reported having witnessed anything. On Sunday morning, several Ottawa police officers wearing bulletproof vests were seen scouring the area. A command post had been set up in the parking lot, which was cordoned off with yellow tape.
The suspect is described as about 6-1 and wearing a dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt, black pants and shoes. He wore sunglasses and covered his face with a bandana.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the east-end criminal investigations unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 3566.
Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by downloading the Ottawa police app.
