Pets bring their humans for annual Wiggle-Waggle fundraiser

More than 800 participants and hundreds of pets were out in the sunshine Saturday for the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon and Run for the Animals, to have some fun and raise some money for the Ottawa Humane Society.

The walkathon event, in its 29th year, is the Humane Society’s biggest fundraising event. As of Saturday morning, received and pledged donations were approaching $100,000.

Proceeds help the society care for more than 10,000 animals every year.

Fun activities included face painters, mascots, Puppy Picasso dog art, food trucks, vendors selling pet supplies and a silent auction.
