GATINEAU – A 27-year-old parachutist lost his life during a jump on Saturday in Gatineau, in the Outaouais region.
The victim, who was experienced, appeared to have technical problems before crashing into the backyard of a residence on Proulx Road, a few kilometres north of the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport.
The man participated in a weekend of jumps as part of the 3rd edition of the Rockstar Boogie, an annual event where participants can perform jumps by making different unconventional figures.
The parachute may not have deployed properly.
