Thick fog blanketed the ice Sunday as the Gatineau Olympiques kicked off their season Sunday.
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada had to be put off after the first period because excessive heat inside the aging Robert Guertin Arena combined with deteriorating ice conditions that were judged unsafe for play.
