Paramedics took one resident to the hospital with burns to the hands and smoke inhalation early Monday morning after a fire in a Carleton Square apartment.
Fire crews were summoned to 1140 Meadowlands Drive at 4:17 a.m. by 911 calls reporting visible smoke from the fifth floor and a call from the alarm company. They quickly declared a working fire.
It was under control at 4:32 a.m. and out by 4:58 a.m.
A fire investigator was on scene but found nothing suspicious.
The resident’s injuries were minor and the trip the hospital for observation, police said, as they lifted road closures in the area at about 5:30 a.m.
